Types of cosmetic raw materials

Cosmetics are composite mixtures of various cosmetic raw materials that are rationally prepared and processed. Cosmetics are made of various raw materials and have different properties. According to the nature and use of cosmetic raw materials, cosmetics can be divided into two categories: matrix raw materials and auxiliary raw materials. The former is the main raw material of cosmetics, accounting for a large proportion of cosmetic formulations, and plays an important role in cosmetics. The latter are responsible for forming, stabilizing, or conferring the color, aroma, and other properties of cosmetics that are used in small but important quantities in cosmetic formulations. It is extracted from substances with different functions as raw materials, after heating, stirring, emulsification and other processes and other chemical mixtures.

Cosmetic raw materials are generally divided into generic matrix raw materials and additives. General cosmetic matrix raw materials include oily raw materials, which are widely used in cosmetics. Moisturizer is an essential raw material for face cream and cosmetics, mainly used in hairspray, mousse and gel mask. The powdered form is mainly used to make flavor powder. Pigments and dyes are mainly used to make cosmetic modified products. The commonly used additives are hydrolyzed gelatin, hyaluronic acid, superoxide dismutase (SOD), royal jelly, silk fibroin, mink oil, pearl, aloe vera, wheat stone, organic GE, pollen, alginic acid, sea thorn, etc.

Animal oil and fat cosmetics are used as raw materials for cosmetics, including mink oil, egg butter, lanolin, lecithin, etc. Animal oils and fats typically include highly unsaturated fatty acids and fatty acids. Their color and odor are worse compared to vegetable oils, so attention should be paid to antisepsis when used specifically. Mink oil is widely used in cosmetics such as nutritive creams, moisturizing creams, hair oils, shampoos, lipsticks, and sunscreen cosmetics. Egg butter contains fats, phospholipids, lecithin and vitamins A, D, E, etc. It can be used as a raw material for lipstick cosmetics. Lanolin is mainly used in anhydrous ointment, lotion, hair oil, bath oil, etc. Lecithin is extracted from egg yolks, soybeans, and grains.
